Pehrson/Laning, 1982

Beautiful buttery yellow, and a reliable seed parent. These creamy yellow single flowers are supported by strong stems and grow vigorously.

I enjoy reading about past hybridizers and getting a sense of the person behind the plants. I came across this quote in The Peony Newsletter from April 1970:

“I am assuming, for the present, the role of what Don Hollingsworth has called ‘the Reference Person.’ Let it be understood that I am not to be considered the expert, or even an expert, on the subject of peony hybridizing. I am merely one of the very few least inexperienced of the present-day crop of hybridizers. I am Roy, and this is enough.”

And this is his best yellow
